Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Our preliminary task allowed us to make the basic camera shots. I believe that our preliminary task was a warm up for our full product; therefore I have learnt the different shots and different camera angles that allow us to create the 180 degree rule when 2 people are having a conversation and also match on action to give it the filming effect. The different techniques that we used in our preliminary task have allowed us to expand it in our full product to make it look more effective for the target audience and more attractive. The preliminary task was like a pilot study for our full product, to have a test of how we going to film our full product with different angles and to make it to the best of our ability.

I have learnt that when we finished taking our first shot and we wanted to do the other shots another day we have to make sure that everything is in the same place when we take the other shots on another day, and we needed to make sure that our clothes and hair style is all the same. This is the major mistake that we made in the preliminary task, which we made sure that we didn't make in our final production. I learnt that everything must be the same, otherwise your filming would look altered which doesn't make it effective or attractive to audiences.

Looking back at our preliminary task, it was very essential for us to keep to the 180 degree rule to make the filiming proffesional and effective, with different shots coming from the shoulder from both talkers. I made sure that the 180 degree rule was used in our full product.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt that the technologies of media products have rapidly increased and that many Conglomerate Institutions use the best technology to make their high quality film and to make sure it is successful. I have learnt that many institutions have to use a range of cameras and computer effects/designs to create a film and to make it more realistic for the target audience. In our filming process we only used one camera final cut for our editing.
I have learnt that the media relies on technology to make their films to the best quality, without technology such as Internet access, HD cameras, 3D cinema/TVs, audiences cinematic view would be rubbish, and therefore, cinemas and films wouldn't gross revenue and make a profit after production. It is hard to produce a film with the minimum amount of technology, with out the final cut on the Mac's that we used we wouldn't be able to edit our final production and start to make it into a whole clip. I have learnt the difficulty of using the minimum amount of technology to produce the opening of our full product. I have learnt that we are surrounded by technology from small gadgets to big gadgets and the also we are surrounded by masses of media from television to computers. Without technology we wouldn't have any media institutions or any film productions, we are so dependent on media in the modern society, the world revolves around it.

How did you attract/address your audience?

We attracted our audience by making a survey which we made people fill out online. This therefore, showed us the range of qualities people want from a film and the different types of genre. We first decided on what type of target we wanted to attracted and then decided what types of genre would link to the target audience, for example, teenagers would be more action, horror, urban films and adults would prefer more love films with less violence. With the feedback from the survey we then was able to start to make a rough plan for our film plot. We uploaded the film on YouTube allowing others to view it therefore could showing the use of convergence.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I think that a niche media institution such as Vertigo would distribute our product because firstly it is based in the UK, therefore, Vertigo is a distribution company that only distributes to the UK and also the budget that we may have would be too low for conglomerates to distribute and market. If our budget was big conglomerates such as Working Title or Universal would be able to distribute our product as they are high recognisable and with a big budget we would be able to use a wide range of marketing techniques such as synergy and convergence through technology to promote and distribute our film. However, i believe that this type of film would be distributed by a smaller company because it doesn't have a big effect for an opening seen and also the type of genre would make bigger companies nervous about distributing our product as they would have to think about whether it would attract the other countries rather then just theirs, therefore, i believe our type of genre wouldn't be as successful as a love film if it was distributed world wide. Therefore, i believe our media product would be a limited release.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Since our genre was urban, it represents young teenagers growing up in difficult/violent times. Therefore, the stereotypical view of 'Gangster" teenagers would be violent and aggressive as it shows on our media opening. It shows gang social groups, for example, young teenagers associated with gangs or groups of other young teenagers that commit crimes.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The use of the different types of media related techniques to produce the opening seen and the total experience of the of making the film helped us develop the knowledge of using real media products. Having our own deadlines and planning the films our selves gave us responsibility as well as organizing different meetings which allowed us to be  and well prepared.
